About the Ensemble

Bellini is a choral ensemble that provides younger girls with an exceptional musical and choral experience. Since the group’s inaugural season, Fall 2015, they have been featured in several Belles Canto concerts as well as performing for the USCA Chancellor’s Christmas Party at the Convocation Center and in retirement communities in Aiken.

Shannon brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as co-director of Bellini. With a passion for both vocal and piano performance, Shannon has been teaching private lessons in both disciplines for over five years. She has taught through the Lawson Academy Pre-College Program at her alma mater, Converse College, and has served as a staff accompanist, working with undergraduate instrumental and vocal students.

Shannon holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Piano Performance and Vocal Performance, as well as a Master's degree in Vocal Performance, all from Converse College. Her extensive training in classical piano and voice enables her to provide a strong foundation in musical technique while fostering a deep appreciation for the artistry of both disciplines.

As co-director of Bellini, Shannon is dedicated to helping young singers develop their musical skills, cultivate confidence, and experience the joy of choral music.

ELAINE WENGARD

Co-Director, Bellini

Elaine Wengard has been a dedicated volunteer with Belles Canto and Bellini for many years, bringing her passion for music and her commitment to fostering a positive, welcoming environment for young singers. Elaine's extensive experience in community music, particularly through her leadership roles in church worship, provides her with a unique and valuable perspective.

As co-director of Bellini, she continues to guide young voices with the same dedication and enthusiasm that has made her such a treasured part of the choir community. Her ability to inspire, along with her deep love for music, makes her a valuable asset to Aiken Youth Choirs.
